Dr. Zhenbao Jin (金 振 豹) is an attorney in Beijing, China.  He also received a doctorate in law, and was a university law lecturer in China.  After being diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 38 in 2012, Dr. Jin decided to forgo the recommended course of chemotherapy and embarked on self-healing through bicycling and Taoist meditation.  Today, his cancer is in remission, and he has also recovered from other illnesses including atrophic gastritis, prostatitis, allergic rhinitis, and stress-related depression.

Since his diagnosis, Dr. Jin has remolded and refocused his life, turning his research and analytical skills to the study of Taoist meditation and its application to a healthier life.  He is the founder of Sanhe (三 和) Meditation Center in Beijing, and gives lectures and workshops in China on Taoist meditation and traditional healing arts.  He is in Portland, on his way to the 27th World Congress for Philosophy of Law in Washington, DC;  and we are fortunate that he will be able to give a talk while here.  He will share his experience with Taoist meditation:  its relationship to traditional Chinese culture, including Chinese medicine; its significance for physical and mental wellness; and its difference from Buddhist meditation traditions, such as Vipassana.

The lecture will be followed by a 15 minute guided Taoist meditation session, and a Q&A.
