An Introduction to the Manchus

November 5, 2016     9:30 – 11:00 amA primer about the Manchus—who they were, where they came from, and their significance in Chinese history.  An introduction to the language will follow with a look at some of its features and possible connections with other languages. Our season follows the academic calendar, running from September to June, 9:30 – 11:00 am every first Saturday and is free and open to the public.  Our new location at PSU upstairs on the second floor (Rm 230) has an elevator and is wheelchair friendly, with unrestricted viewing and comfortable desks for note taking.

Each presentation is typically followed by a no host lunch with the presenter where we continue the discussion and have some good food, Chinese style – come with us.
